About Inner City Development

Inner City Development Inc. is a corporation providing construction services primarily, but not exclusively, to the non-profit sector in Winnipeg's inner city.

Inner City Development Inc. (ICD) is a social enterprise incorporated in 2002 as a share capital corporation.  As a social enterprise, ICD manages dual bottom lines financial and social.

Mission

To provide quality employment for inner city low income residents and quality services to inner city non-profit community organizations.

Inner City Development Inc.'s goal is to be a self-sustaining employee-owned group of companies.   We intend to create steady employment and practical training for inner city residents. Our employees are what make ICD different, and they are committed to making a difference to Winnipeg’s Inner City.

ICD is committed to:

• Providing quality full time employment to inner city low-income residents

• Providing better-than-average sector wages and benefits

• Providing education and training, leading to skills and certification, to its workers

• Providing opportunities for advancement and career laddering

• Providing participatory management culture

• Creating employee ownership in the social enterprise which will be triggered once the business units are stable and have two consecutive profitable years
