History
Over the past five years, Inner City Development Inc. has build a solid infrastructure, relationships and partnerships, experience, and reputation. Inner City Development started up in 2002 as Inner City Renovation Inc. As new social enterprises were developed it changed its legal name to Inner City Development Inc. and Inner City Renovation continued as an operating division of ICD.
Inner City Development Inc. was initiated by Community Ownership Solutions Inc, a community development corporation (CDC) with a mandate to create quality jobs for low income people in Winnipeg’s inner city.
Marty Donkervoort has been associated with ICD since before its startup. He has been its General Manager since January 2006. Marty is currently ICD’s President and CEO, reporting to the ICD Board of Directors. The Board currently has four directors representing community groups, business, labour, educational institutes and City of Winnipeg.
Over the years, ICD has built up numerous partnerships and relationships. ICD is a share capital corporation with Community Ownership Solutions and Social Capital Partners as shareholders. Both partners are non-profit community development organizations, COS is also a registered charity. |
